Heading out with my mom on what seems to be a bi-annual family hike. Not looking for anything the least bit intense we headed out to the Bald Hills trail around Maligne Lake (an official parks canada trail so it has hordes of people). Not to much to say about this except if you do head up it pays off to go to the actual highpoint about 20 min further than the official highpoint (the view of the lake and surrounding peaks is much less obstructed and it gives a break from the crowds).

The one thing that was interesting/concerning was that apparently two grizzly bears hanging out around the area (both just a little bit off the official trial), Opal Hills on the other side of the valley had a bear warning but apparently they wandered over for some variety. I didn't end up seeing either of the bears personally but apparently one of them had an upset stomach as there was a massive pile of half digested berry-filled bear barf in the middle of the trail, that is something I never thought I would see.
